Olzaras: AI Voice PDF Reader (com.olzaras.reader) · Effective 2026-09-14 · Operator: Diyan Hristov, trading as DH Studio Technologies

This document is the Privacy Policy for the Olzaras: AI Voice PDF Reader app (“OLZARAS”), published on Google Play by Diyan Hristov, trading as DH Studio Technologies (“we”). It covers three separate areas: (1) the app itself, (2) our website, (3) purchases made through Google Play. Contact for privacy questions: support@dhstudio.dev.

1. The app: nothing leaves your device

The app has no Internet permission: android.permission.INTERNET is not in the app manifest, so the system never gives it a network connection. You can see this for yourself: the app works fully in airplane mode, and Android’s app settings show no network permission for it. The app therefore cannot transmit anything, and we do not access, collect, use, share, or sell any personal or sensitive user data. There are no accounts, analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs, and no microphone access (RECORD_AUDIO is not in the manifest).

What the app processes, entirely on your device:

  • Text you paste or upload (TXT/MD/HTML/EPUB/DOCX/FB2/PDF): kept in app-private storage while reading; never transmitted.
  • Generated speech audio: temporary files in the app cache, deleted as reading progresses.
  • MP3 recordings you explicitly make (REC): saved to Music/Olzaras on your device, under your control. Each carries an AI-generated ID3 tag and, normally, an AudioSeal watermark (see the Terms document).
  • Settings (voice, language, speed, theme) and reading position: local app storage only.
  • Device performance calibration: local, contains no personal data.

All of the above is excluded from cloud backup and device transfer (allowBackup=false; the data extraction rules exclude everything).

Permissions used (complete list, as shipped): POST_NOTIFICATIONS (reading-progress notification), FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK (reading continues with the screen locked), WAKE_LOCK (synthesis while the screen is off), plus two entries added automatically by Android libraries, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED (declared by the WorkManager and Media3 libraries; they grant no access to your content and no ability to transmit it). The manifest also declares one app-internal marker, com.olzaras.reader.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION, generated by the AndroidX Core library to keep the app’s own broadcast receivers private; it is not a system permission and grants nothing.

Retention and deletion (app): everything above lives only on your device. Cache files are deleted automatically; deleting a recording from the in-app library removes both the library entry and the MP3 file; clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app deletes all remaining app data. Recordings in Music/Olzaras are your own files and stay on the device until you delete them. Since nothing reaches us, there is nothing for us to retain or delete.

Secure handling: since no data reaches us, the only copies are on your device, protected by Android’s app-private storage isolation (the MP3 files you export are placed in your media library by design, under your control).

Children: the app collects no data from anyone, including children.

2. Our website (dhstudio.dev)

The pages under dhstudio.dev are static informational pages. We add no accounts, tracking cookies or analytics to them. The hosting provider may keep standard technical access logs (such as IP address, time, and requested page) to operate the service; see the provider’s own privacy policy for those logs.

3. Purchases through Google Play

The app is sold through Google Play. The purchase is processed by Google as the merchant of record; we never see your payment card or banking details. Google provides us with transaction records (such as order number, product, country, tax and payout amounts) needed for accounting and buyer support. For these transaction records Diyan Hristov, trading as DH Studio Technologies, acts as an independent data controller under Art. 4(7) GDPR; the legal basis for keeping them is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (compliance with legal obligations under Bulgarian law). We retain them for 10 years starting from 1 January of the period following the reporting period to which they relate (Bulgarian Accountancy Act, Art. 12; Tax-Insurance Procedure Code, Art. 38); these statutory periods prevail over the shorter contractual minimums agreed with Google (originals 6 months, copies 18 months), and we delete the records after they expire. For Google’s own handling of your payment data, see the Google Play Terms of Service and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Your rights

For the transaction records above you may request access, rectification, or restriction under the GDPR by writing to the contact address in this document; you may also lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (cpdp.bg) or your local supervisory authority. A request to erase transaction records within the statutory retention period above will be refused under Art. 17(3)(b) GDPR (processing required by a legal obligation); any other personal data would be erased immediately; the app itself gives us none.

Sharing

We do not share personal data with third parties: the app sends us nothing, and the transaction records described above stay with the operator and are not sold or passed on, except where the law requires disclosure.

Changes

Any change to this policy will be published at https://dhstudio.dev/olzaras/privacy before it takes effect.
